Notes The name of the work was not given by the author, but this name was deemed appropriate by Kaya, who worked on the text, based on the library record of the author's copy, which forms the basis of his work. In the note at the end of the text, it is recorded that Sükûnî wrote his work in Gallipoli in Rebiülevvel 1087/May-June 1676, so that students could easily memorize and comprehend the Arabic grammar rules (Kaya 2016: 62). Sükûnî, who wrote his work in three sections as noun-verb and letter, kept the descriptions and examples related to these subjects short; In this respect, it was evaluated by Kaya as a work to be used under the guidance of a teacher rather than a resource for students to study on their own (Kaya 2016: 89; 98). Risâle fi'n-Nahv, which summarizes almost all of the grammar rules, is thought to be a kind of summary of İbnü'l-Hacîb's (d. 646/1249) inel-Kâfiye, due to their similarities in terms of arrangement and content (Kaya 2016: 63). There is a master's thesis on the work (Kaya 2016). For the biography of the poet, see. "Sükûnî, Şeyh Mehmed". Turkish Literature Names Dictionary.
