Notes
Spanish carpet inspired by a Turkish design
Tarihsel bağlam
The importation of Turkish carpets began to change the style of carpets made in Spain, particularly from the second half of the fifteenth century. This example shows a design inspired by Turkish silk, which was itself originally copied from imported Italian velvets. (M. Rosser-Owen, 2010).
