Notes
This bowl was given by the artist Sir Frank William Brangwyn RA RWS RBA (1867 â 1956), an Anglo-Welsh virtuoso engraver and illustrator. The progressive designer would have appreciated its bold graphic appeal with its minimalist design in cobalt blue, executed by an artist in the 9th century. Such wares had only recently come to light through archaeological excavations.
