Malzemeler ve teknikler
Quilted silk Silk (Textile) Quilted
Fiziksel açıklama
Fragment of brown pseudo-quilted silk with braid-like edges in brown and blue. The fragment consists of six 'sections', divided by brown and blue strips in a checked pattern. In places on the border, the blue wefts cover pairs of cream and beige warps to give a ribbed effect. Unlike in true quilting, the embroidery stitching here is only done through one layer of material rather than multiple padded layers (hence pseudo-quilting). The silk thread is Z-spun with paired warp threads (approx. 65-6 pcm), and single weft threads (approx. 32-3 pcm).
