Notes
Four fragments of tablet woven fabric of horsehair and linen. Egyptian, ca. AD100-600. The warp (count of 3 tpc) is of undyed linen that is double threaded and tightly spun in S direction. The threads are dirty. The weft is of yellow and black hair. Knots are tied along the weft. A change in the weave can be seen where the colours are woven as alternating in colour (creating a striped effect) and "one under one over", to where they change to a more plaited/twill effect. There are several hairs to each weft with more at the selvedge. T.201(A-D)-1976 are the same.
