WARP: white cotton; Z6S; depressed; 19 threads to the inch (72 per dm). WEFT: red cotton; Z spun, unplied; 4 parallel threads to each shoot and 3 shoots after each row of knots; 11 knots to the inch (46 per dm). PILE: wool; 11 colours: dark red, red, dark green, olive green, light green, dark blue, light blue, dark pink, pink, light brown, black; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around 2 threads; 105 knots to the sq. inch (1656 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: left-hand side is missing. Right-hand side is returned weft only. END FINISH: lower end is part missing, part cut. Upper end is cut. DESIGN: field: dark blue ground with lion chasing antelope and blue-horned stag through field of red flowers on pink stems. Main border: red ground with animals, burds, leaves and blossoms. Inner and outer borders: light blue ground with dark blue geometric design.
