Two woven woollen bands on linen. Egyptian, ca. AD300-600. The bands (approx. 83mm wide) are solid purple with sides of rolling waves. The warps are of linen and include 4 threads each. One edge is selvedge and creates a c10mm border. The piece has some small holes.
