Warp: white cotton; Z4S; depressed; 20 threads per inch (81 per dm). Weft: light brown cotton; Z2S; 2 parallel threads per shoot and 2 shoots after each row of knots; 12 knots per inch (48 per dm). Pile: wool; 9 colours: dark red, red, yellow, light green, blue/green, dark blue, blue, black, cream; asymmetrical knot, open to the left and tied round 2 warp threads; 120 knots per sq. inch (1944 per sq. dm). Side finish: right-hand side has returned weft over one cord. Left-hand side is cut. End finish: both ends are cut. Design: Main border: dark blue ground with part of stylised floral pattern. The larger element has a dark red ground and the second element has cream ground. Some evidence of smaller floral meander. Inner border: cream ground with floral meander with dark blue leaves; larger flowers are red and smaller are light blue. Outer border: light green ground with dark red cartouche linked to dark and light blue flowerheads.
