Woven and brocaded silk and metal thread, satin ground, twill pattern. Warp: dark grey silk, Z-twist Weft: dark red and red silk Metal thread: silver strip close S-wound on yellow silk core Very lightweight textile. Dark grey ground patterned with a repeat of two main bands: [1] carnation like blossoms below an offset row of right-facing botehs; all worked in metal thread with outlines and details in red silk; [2] a very narrow band with a group of three elements repeated: a red trefoil, a red V-motif, a red and metal thread leaf. Above the second carnation and boteh band is a narrow undecorated band and then a repeat of band [2]. Selvedge: 1 c undecorated satin. There are long red silk weft floats on the back.
