Fiziksel açıklama Carpet with a knotted woollen pile. WARP: Light brown wool; Z3S; 14 threads per inch (60 per dm). WEFT: Light brown wool and red wool in the upper (37.5 cms); Z2S; varies, but mainly 3 shoots after each row of knots; 8 knots per inch; 35 per dm. PILE: Wool; 10 colours: dark red, red, yellow, green, blue with abrash, purple, pink, light brown, black and white; towards the upper end, some of the colours in some of the motifs are banded, as if the weaver were running out of appropriate colours; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 56 knots per sq. inch (1050 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: The left hand edge is uneven; a web of three cords overcast in black, purple, and red wool. END FINISH: Lower: incomplete. Upper: cut DESIGN: Field: on a blue ground there are four hooked diamonds, purple, black, red and black from which vertical arrows extend to emphasise direction. Within each is a white diamond bearing four small diamonds. Enclosing the hooked diamond is an angular pink border. To the sides are pairs of white diamonds within red diamonds similar to those in the centre of the main motif. There are also small rosettes and quartered motifs. Main border: White ground with star-like rosettes in various colours doubly linked with multi-coloured stems. In the top right hand corner is a pair of birds. Inner border: Dark red ground with rectangular blocks divided into several coloured segments. Outer border: As the inner but with green ground.
