Cover of embroidered silk. Composed of three joined strips. Embroidered with silks in shades of terra cotta, pink, blue, black and cream. Laid and couched work, double-back and stem stitches. With large blossoms and sprays of leaves are arranged in vertical and horizontal rows across the ground. The silk embroidery filling stitch is laid and couched by a couched line with outlines worked in a combination of back stitch and running stitch. The stems and small leaves are worked in close herringbone stitch.
