Fiziksel açıklama Warp: white cotton; Z5S; 16 threads per inch (64 per dm); warp loops along the back. Weft: white cotton for the first 2.5 cm. and then red wool; Z2S; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 8-9 knots per inch (30-35 per dm). Pile: wool; 10 colours: dark red, red, light red, yellow, dark green, dark blue, blue, purple, black, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; average of 68 knots per sq. inch (average 1040 per sq. dm). Side finish: 2 cords overcast with red wool. End finish: Lower: 4 cms plain weave with white cotton; there are 2 passes of purple/green weft twining across the centre. The ends of the warp are plaited from left to right to form a horizontal cord. Upper: 4 cms as above but with fringe of 2 rows of off-set knotting then twisted and secured with one more knot to form a fringe 15 cms. long. Design: Field: dark blue with 12-1/2 bands of large blossoms and palmettes. Each band of 3 flame-edged palmettes separated by 2 red rosettes on a green leaf alternate with 2 vertical palmettes and either 1 or 2 red rosettes within a green flower and with 1 or 2 red rosettes surrounded by flowers and leaves. These bands lie on a lattice of yellow or red stems. Main border: red ground with floral meander on blue stems Inner border: white grouond with rosettes alternating with a red tailed crescent. Outer border: white ground with floral meander.
