The inscription on the base dates this to 1082 (1672 AD), however the style and workmanship bears a marked resemblance to a cup (650-1883) with which it was acquired, and which also has an inscription on the base dating it to 927 (1521 AD), both are also attributed to the same maker Muhammad Salih. It would seem both were produced in the same workshop but at a later date than the inscriptions would suggest.
