Unbleached cotton embroidered with white silk in satin stitch, stem stitch, pulled threadwork; whitework. The central field is dominated by a large octagon of pulled threadwork forming a longitudinal or lateral grid, and in between a stylised tree form also in pulled threadwork. The remaining central space is decorated with a trellis of 8-pointed stars in white satin stitch. A narrow band of pulled lozenges edges the outer band of pulled hexagonal on all four sides, separated by blocks of triangular forms in white silk satin stitch. Cotton: Z twist both warp and weft Silk: white 2S There are two selvedges.
