Tent band, part, single soumak with some countered and brocaded. WARP: white cotton; Z2S; 64 threads per inch (244 per dm counted as 122 per 5 cms). WEFT: Foundation: white cotton; Z2S; 25 threads per inch (204 to the dm at 102 per 5 cms.). Pattern: wool; 12 colours: dark red, red, light red, yellow, light green, green;blue, dark blue, blue, light blue, purple, light brown, black. Irregular movement. SIDE FINISH: returned wefts. END FINISH: cut DESIGN: the piece is decorated in bands except for two, full width peacocks, one dark red, the other dark blue. There are five ands filled with geometric designs on a dark blue ground entirely worked in soumak; five bands have small geometric and small floral designs.
