Fiziksel açıklama Mudjar Turkish carpet Single niche, woven from the base of the niche. WARP: white; Z2S; density of threads varies but the average 12 threads per inch (45 per dm). WEFT: shades of brown, mainly light, wool; Z spun, unplied: 2 occasionally 3 shoots after each row of knots; number of knots varies, average 7 knots per inch (24 per dm). PILE: wool; 11 colours: red, light red, yellow, dark green, light green, blue, purple, dark pink, light pink, dark brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 42 knots per sq. inch (540 per dm). SIDE FINISH: 2 cords overcast in blocks of various colours. END FINISH: Lower: maximum of 9 cms. plain weave with light red wool (brown in places). Warp loops with evidence that they had been tied together. Upper: maximum of 6.5 cms. plain weave with light red weft. Warp threads have been knotted to form a fringe with evidence of subsequent plaiting of 3 knots together 12 cms. of this remaining in one place). DESIGN: field: divided into two parts, the lower and main part is a dark red panel with simple stepped niche bordered by a white line decorated with red on the sides and bottom. The niche arch is further bordered in purple and then yellow and then dark pink - this is hooked and extends upwards from the point of the niche to enclose a diamond with concentric colours. The dark pink frames extends to form large hooks. These lie on a green field which is decorated with S motifs and small floral motifs. Main border: yellow ground with large, closely spaced rosettes each composed of four V-shaped pointing inwards - the yellow ground showing as a cross dividing these segments. Inner border: blue ground with a line of touching yellow diamonds filled, as pairs, with various colours (except at the bottom). Outer border: brown ground with stylised flowers, filled as pairs in various colours. Guard stripes around inner border: brown ground with dark red zigzag with mostly white (outer) or variously coloured (inner) knot in each curve.
