WARP: white cotton; Z7S; 10 threads per inch (40 per dm). WEFT: light red cotton; Z9S; 3 shoots after each row of knots; 5 knots per inch (20 per dm). PILE; cotton; 4 colours: red, dark blue, light blue, white; asymmetrical knot open to the left and tied around two threads; 25 knots per sq. inch (200 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: 1 cord overcast with red cotton. END FINISH: Lower: incomplete, but immediately below the pile are 4 shoots of thick cotton weft and below these is a fringe made by Z-twisting pairs of warp loops and then grouping them in fours and Z-twisting these. Upper: missing. DESIGN: Field: white ground with a central row of one and two half octagonal medallions and two half rows. The outer border of the central row serves as the border of the two pairs of half medallioons at each side. The complete medallion has a central white rosette on a blue cross within a blue-outlined octagon. Around this is a garland of stylised flowers. The part medallions each show their half of this design. Main border: white ground with a row of alternating dark blue and white rosettes with a half band at either side. Inner and outer borders: white ground with the red outline of a diamond with a dark blue centre.
