| Notes | Tapestry woven wool. Egyptian, ca. AD100-400. The warp is of double threads/paired and s-spun. The piece has a Greek inscription across the central band. The letters are in white on pink background. This is bordered above and below with a yellow band (approx. 7mm wide) and on either side of this is a purple background (not much remains past here). The piece has some staining. |
