Woven silk brocade, with vertical and horizontal point repeat with 4 minimum pattern areas. Satin foundation structure: 4/1 satin, warp count: 70, ivory silk. weft: cotton, 2 ply Z twist. Satin and velvet warp order 3-1-3. Velvet structure; red and green silk, pile counts, warps 8, along weft 8. Binding weft threads: silk, ivory. Brocade structure: part brocaded, 4/1 twill, count 9. Shots between pile 2, brocaded only in the spandrels and in the centre of the medallion. Selvedges: cotton weft shows; a broken twill, but relatively few warps. Silk (Textile) Cotton Weaving
