Notes
A thin strip of tapestry woven linen and wool. Egypt, ca. AD1100-1300. The linen is white and of plain weave, slightly glazed. The decorative strip has been cut short at one end. It is a band (10mm wide) of woven purple wool and linen with a script-like, scrolling decoration with a floral motif in between the scrolling. The piece is stained and has some wear.
