Notes
This narrow length of linen has an embroidered Arabic inscription in blue which refers to El Mustansir, Fatimite Khalif of Egypt, who reigned between A.H. 427 and 487 (= Current Era 1036-1095). The surface of the linen is glazed, probably with a vegetable wax.
