Notes
The traditional jewellery of the Berber tribes of North Africa is almost always made of silver in heavy, clearly-defined shapes. Although individual pieces rarely date back any earlier than the 19th century, the designs are very old, and European observers liked to find traces of Roman or Phoenician influence. This bracelet comes from the Aurès region of Algeria. They were originally always worn in pairs. The strange clasp is typical of the region and was rarely fastened; the thickness of the metal would have made it almost impossible to close it. Later, in the 20th century, bracelets like this became more decorative and were often set with red and green pastes.

Fiziksel açıklama
Silver penannular bracelet with a loop fastened to one end and two to the other so that they could be fastened with a pin if the loops were ever aligned. The bracelet is too thick to allow this to happen. It is decorated with a band of applied rosettes and bars.
