Fiziksel açıklama
Plain weave cotton, machine-woven, embroidered with silk in straight stitches and pulled thread work; whitework; interlined with block printed cotton, backed with plain weave glazed cotton and faced with plain weave cotton. The central area is left largely undecorated except for the four corners which each have a slender stylized cypress tree motif in pulled thread work, pointing inwards. Around the wide framing border small boteh motifs, along the longitudinal sides pointing right and along the lateral sides to the left, alternate with small stylized plants, both in pulled thread and straight stitches. The border itself is composite, with a row of small reciprocal trefoils then small lozenges in straight stitches, pulled thread zigzags, lozenges and then 2 rows of squares formed of stepped triangles in straight stitch, with repeats of the previous rows. Cotton thread: Z-spun Embroidery Thread: white silk; 2S. Interlining: white ground with a dense arabesque of fine black stems bearing various small exotic blossoms in red, green and yellow and possibly blue. Backing: white glazed cotton, undecorated. Facing: bias cut, probably originally glazed, white undecorated cotton sewn along the outer edge to form small scallops.
