Dish of buff fritware with decoration painted in colours on tin enamel. Panels of formal foliated pattern cross in the middle of the dish forming a square which contains a quatrefoil. The spaces between are similarly decorated. Outside below the rim is an inscription in Persian character, translated as 'May I be with thee once again ; to cull the sugar from thy ruby lips; The life I have opened with thee was pleasant; May I see again the life that is past; Joy - fortune - adornment'
