Notes A panel of tapestry woven linen and wool. Egyptian, ca. AD300-600. The panel of woven wool (140mm x 140mm) is in dark blue, green and red. A hare is central and has its head looking over it's shoulder. It nibbles on berries attached to a tree and a bird sits above, on the tree. This is bordered by a square of wave-like decoration (ie: connected U shapes) There are holes on the panel. The backing of undyed linen; approx. 16x10 tpc (sys 1 x sys 2); closely woven; thread dia. approx 1mm.
