Fiziksel açıklama
Large rectangular tile, fritware, decorated in the overglaze technique known as lajvardina (from 'lajvard', the Persian for 'lapis lazuli'), in which the background is a deep cobalt blue. It is decorated with a moulded inscription (Quran 2:285) in relief, outlined in red and painted a solid cobalt blue, while the background of the tile is decorated with large spiralling scrolls and small leaves and curls in a white pigment. The gilding which would have originally highlighted the letters has been lost.
