One of a pair of fragments of a tapestry woven panel in purple wool and undyed linen thread. The slit-tapestry woven pattern, dark on light, consists of a pair of medallions with zig-zag borders, enclosing two facing lions on a false hatched background. Details are picked out in flying thread brocading in undyed linen thread. Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 3/3) Wool weft (Z-spun, approx. 50/cm) Linen weft (S-spun)
