Fritware Painted
Fiziksel açıklama
Border tile of fritware (also called stone paste), painted under the glaze in two shades of blue. The pattern in the main field is composed from two types of scrollwork. One has spiralling tendrils set with large, complex, stencil-like blossoms and smaller buds, leaves and five-petalled rosettes (a combination called hatâyî in Turkish). Within this system, one large blossom sits in the centre of the tile, while the half-blossoms at the ends of the tile are inverted. Each of these blossoms is framed by scrollwork of the second type, called rûmî in Turkish. This is set with a pair of large, stylized leaves (half-palmettes), which frame the large blossoms. The dark-blue border is decorated with two types of rosette in light-blue: a row of larger, six-petal rosettes runs between rows of four-petal rosettes, only half of which are shown.
