Notes In the 12th century new techniques of decoration on ceramics were introduced. Kashan became one of the main centres for high quality ceramics. This bowl belongs to the so-called 'silhouette ware'. The decoration has been carved through a thick black slip to show the relief on a lighter ground. The final turquoise glazing gives the bowl its black and turquoise colour scheme.

Fiziksel açıklama Bowl of fritware, of shallow shape on small foot, decoration is carved through a thick black slip and covered with a turquoise glaze. The interior with scrollwork around the rim, a band with an inscription in the centre, flanked by a bird on either side. The outside without decoration covered in turquoise glaze. The foot is unglazed.
