Textile fragment of tapestry-woven linen and silk. The upper part is of linen. With horizontal bands of silk woven yellow and red with a pattern of quasi-roundels formed by the twisting of two ropes. In the centre of each roundel is a human figure and an animal. At right angles to this band is a vertical strip of yellow silk woven with a vertical repeat of two red lions with green wings on either side of a green tree. At right angles to this, along the bottom of the fragment, is a band composed of three rows of arrowhead ornament in yellow on red. At the right side is a vertical strip woven with alternate chevrons of blue and yellow. The centre has almost gone, but may have been composed of a band of linen with a small pattern in black, a band of red silk below, and a third band of black silk.
