Fragment of plain woven undyed linen, with a tapestry woven rectangular panel in brown coloured wool and undyed linen. The lower part of the ground weave has an area of open warp threads; one each side of this is a thin brown border of one woolen weft. There is a selvedge on the lower edge, with a fringe made from the twisted warp ends. Plain weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 22/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 9/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun, 22/cm) 6 ribs per cm
