Plain woven and chequered linen Linen Plain Weave Dyeing

Fragment of a plain woven linen cloth, chequered with blue linen. Each cheque is created using two blue warps and two blue wefts, running 8mm apart (c. every 8 wefts and 10 warps). The piece has been cut on all four edges. There is some slight staining and a small hole. Plain weave: Linen weft (S-spun, 1 ply) Linen warp (S-spun, 1 ply) Approx. 16x12 tpc Thread diameters vary from 0.2 - 1mm
