Dark blue silk embroidered over woven, undyed linen. Egyptian, Mamluk period, ca. AD1250-1500. One edge is selvedge and along this side is a border (45mm wide) of stylised flower motifs. Next to the border is another stylised flower that covers the remainder of the piece. The flowers are of undyed linen and the background is of embroidered blue silk.
