Fiziksel açıklama
Plain weave cotton embroidered with silk in straight stitches, needleweaving and pulled thread work; whitework There are two rolled hems. There is a needlewoven band either side of a border in which the cotton ground has been decorated with, for the most part, almost touching diamonds of needlewoven bars. In each corner of this border the diamonds in each side collide and there is no planned corner arrangement. In the central panel there are triangular corner units of needlewoven bars. These form an octagon with an edging of embroidered diamondheads. In the centre is an octagon of needlewoven bars with a border in which needleweaving alternates with sections of reciprocal triangles. Note: this is because needleweaving cannot be worked on the diagonal. This applies to several of the whitework pieces in the collection. Cotton thread: Z-spun Embroidery Thread: white silk; 2S
