Notes inscription in Arabic; Persian 16th/17th cent A flat tear drop-shaped tablet of semi-opaque, off white agate; engraved in three concentric orders: Chips on the edges and the tip on verso; ink mark: ‘no’ Centre Van Yakad: وإِن یَکادُ الّذینَ کَفَروا لَیُزلِقونَکَ بِأَبصارِهِ٠لَ٠ّا سَ٠ِعُوا الذِّکرَ و یَقولونَ إِنَّهُ لَ٠َجنونٌ و ٠َا هُوَ إِلاّ ذِکرٌ لِلعالَ٠ین Middle band Surat Al-Fātiĥah: بِسْ٠ِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْ٠َنِ الرَّحِي٠ِ الْحَ٠ْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَ٠ِينَ الرَّحْ٠َنِ الرَّحِي٠ِ ٠َالِكِ يَوْ٠ِ الدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ اهدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْ٠ُسْتَقِي٠َ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَ٠ْتَ عَلَيْهِ٠ْ غَيْرِ الْ٠َغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِ٠ْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ Outer band Ayatu-l-kursī: اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّو٠ُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْ٠ٌ ۚ لَّهُ ٠َا فِي السَّ٠َاوَاتِ وَ٠َا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ ٠َن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَ٠ُ ٠َا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِ٠ْ وَ٠َا خَلْفَهُ٠ْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ ٠ِّنْ عِلْ٠ِهِ إِلَّا بِ٠َا شَاءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّ٠َاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُ٠َا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِي٠ُ
