Wool pile on wool foundation, symmetrical knot. Warp: white wool; Z2S; not depressed; 12 threads per inch (45 per dm). Weft: brown wool, Z-spun, unplied, 2 parallel threads; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 9 rows of knots per inch (36 per dm). Pile: wool; 13 colours: dark red, light red, yellow, green, dark blue, blue, light blue, dark pink, pink, dark brown, light brown and white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 warp threads. Side finish: 1 cord oversewn with dark brown wad. End finish: lower end: missing; upper end: 3 cm plain weave of red woollen weft; remains of warp fringe. Wool Knotted Pile

Design: Field: red ground with 18 bands of 4 boteh or 4.5 alternating primarily in white and light blue and, as offset, create an upward diagonal to the right. Main border: light brown ground with a row of spaced multi-coloured boteh. Guard stripes: inner: light red ground with a twisted ribbon design in most colours; outer: as inner but on a blue ground; outermost: incomplete along the bottom, yellow ground, simple floral meander on a dark stem bearing most colours.
