Sample Text Translation The name Haji Muhammas Husein-i Aqa Ahmad and the claim that this printed textile is of the highest quality. Note There is a block-printed inscription within a cartouche on the lower left hand side. Arabic script; probably the name of the printer.
Malzemeler ve teknikler cotton yarn, weaving, resist printing, block printing, glazing
Fiziksel açıklama Resist and block printed fine, machine woven, glazed cotton. Both selvedges are present. Colours: red, blue, yellow, black. There is a large circle, 103 cm in diameter, on an off-white ground decorated with isolated floral sprays forming a boteh shape in off-set rows facing alternate directions. In the lower left hand corner is a cartouche with an inscription. There are six concentric circles. Working from the outside inwards they are: [1] reciprocal trefoils in red, blue and yellow. [2] wide off-set band with arched forms supported by cypress trees with blue spandrels; each arch contains a circular blossoms on a floral stem. [3] yellow ground with white ogival medallions, each containing a blue and red flower head. There are four types of flower head. [4] red ground with a thin blue meander stem bearing two types of large circular blossom. [5] a repeat of [3] [6] white ground with overall fan-like pattern in red onto which are placed large red botehs with a floral stem on a white ground. The central circle has a yellow ground. In the centre is an 8-pointed star in red, blue and white. There are eight radiating blue cypress trees and two blue stems on each side coil to form a white ground vase shape. The whole is decorated with small flowers and leaves.
