Notes Inscription in Arabic; Carnelian, Egyptian 19th century An almost flat tablet of medium brown carnelian, in an oval shape with slightly irregular top and base; the tablet is incised in white (not engraved) with Surat Al-'Ikhlāş: بس٠الله الرح٠ن الرحي٠قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَد اللَّهُ الصَّ٠َدُ لَ٠ْ يَلِدْ وَلَ٠ْ يُولَد وَلَ٠ْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ The inscription is in a commercial hand; simple decorated border. The base of the tablet displays a wavy colour character. Some chipping and cracks on the edges.
Sample Text Note The incription is in a commercial hand, the decorations around it are irregular and cursory, but it is not without charm.
