Fragment of plain woven, undyed linen with a leaf-shaped, tapestry woven panel in dark purple wool and undyed linen thread. Details are formed in flying thread brocading in undyed linen. In the middle of the panel is a stylised floral ornament, with a diamond at its very centre. This is surrounded by a band of guilloche ornament, and then a plain outer border. Ground weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 24/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 15/cm) Tapestry woven panel: Linen warp (S-spun) Wool weft (Z-spun) 10 ribs per cm
