Three fragments of tapestry woven silk on linen. Probably from a scarf. Egyptian, Manshiya, Fatimid, ca. AD1000-1200. Tiraz. Bands of decoration are woven across the fabric (black, yellow, blue, brown). The decoration is geometric with oval shapes containing swirlled pattterns inside thenm. It is possible that a line of script lies betwwen two of these bands in piece 2 and 3. The linen is undyed and the fabric is stained.
