Saddle bag fragment of wool and cotton. WARP: cream wool; Z2S; 28 threads per inch (104 per dm); depressed. WEFT: pink cotton; Z2S; 2 parallel threads per shoot; 2 shoots after each row of knots; 12 knots per inch (47 per dm). PILE: wool; 7 colours: red, orange, green, light green, dark blue, purple, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads; 168 knots per sq. inch (2444 per sq. dm). SIDE FINISH: one cord oversewn with dark blue wool. END FINISH: one cord oversewn with dark blue wool. END FINISH: cut but evidence of plain weave in the centre top and left slope with pink cotton. Blue weft in extreme top left and bottom left. DESIGN: field: dark blue ground with band of three stylised floral sprigs and diagonal rows of small white stars sloping inwards and surrounding line of small botehs. Innermost border: reciprocal horned triangles in red and dark blue reduced to reciprocal single hooks on sloping sides. Borders (2) and (4) have red ground with foliate meander. Border (3) has white ground with floral meander.
