A fragment of woven wool. Egyptian, ca. AD500-700. At the top of the piece is a band (maroon background) of circles with an even-armed cross inside each circle (cream, red and green). Only one and a half circles remain. Below that is a band (brown background) of animals (dogs?) facing eachother (cream). Below that is a band of geometric shapes (maroon and green). The wool is dirty. S-spun warps are cream/undyed?.
