Fiziksel açıklama
Fragment of a plain woven, undyed linen tunic, with a square tapestry woven panel in purple wool and undyed linen thread. The slit-tapestry woven decoration depicts a square, bordered by a simple line, containing four medallions with foliate borders. Two contain human figures alongside vines, and two contain lions, on a false hatched background. Details are picked out in flything thread brocading in undyed linen thread. The fragment has been reattached to a more modern tulle and linen backing. Plain weave: Linen warp (S-spun, 12/cm) Linen weft (S-spun, 12-14/cm) Tapestry weave: Linen warp (S-spun, thread doubled) Wool weft (Z-spun, 30/cm) Linen weft (S-spun)
