Notes
A highly fragmented piece of tapestry, woven silk on linen. Egyptian, Fatimid, ca. AD1000-1300. Possibly the end of a scarf or girdle. The linen is undyed and approx 0.2mm dia.; it is loosely woven and discoloured; 25x12 tpc; s-spun. The silk forms a geometric design in bright yellow and dark blue, with a central line of linen from which the silk design sits either side of. It is tightly woven; approx. 62x20 tpc.
