A tapestry woven piece of linen and wool. Egyptian, ca. AD700-1000. The linen is white and plain woven. There are two lines of design across the piece. Both are woven in wool and formed of coloured squares (yellow, blue, brown, red, white), some enclosing diamonds, with small triangles above and below each line. The piece has selvedge on either side and a fringe at the base. Above the fringe two lines run across the piece, formed by weaving three linen threads together. The piece has some holes and staining.
