Fiziksel açıklama Carpet of knotted cotton and wool. WARP: white cotton; Z4S; 44 threads per inch (170 per dm); depressed. WEFT: white cotton, Z4S; 1 shoot after each row of knots; 16 knots per inch (60 per dm). PILE: wool; 10 colours: red, yellow, green, light green, dark blue, light blue (faded), pink, brown, light brown, white; symmetrical knot tied around 2 threads, (but two adjacent knots share one warp thread); 469 knots per sq. inch (6780 per sq. dm) calculated by number of warp threads divided by 3 and then x 2 to get number of knots across the carpet and then x by number of knots vertically. Each row of knots was worked from right to left, rather like soumak. SIDE FINISH: one cord oversewn with red wool. END FINISH: one row of red/light blue wool weft-twining and then two plaited rows with a knotted fringe with two off-set rows of knots. Total length: 5 cms. DESIGN: Field: red ground with a small-scale Herati pattern with complex dark green diamonds. The palmettes above and below are in rows of blue/white or blue/yellow. The curling leaves are in pink and light blue. INNER AND OUTER BORDERS: dark blue ground with floral meander with green stems and pink blossoms. Main border: yellow ground with floral meander with two types of blossoms, one lily-like one is on the diagonal.
