Weft: wool; 10 colours: dark red, red, light red, orange, light yellow, green, dark blue, blue, light blue, white; Z2S; 25 rows per inch (100 per dm); foundation weft of light red wool after every second row of soumak. Side finish: 1 cord oversewn with dark red wool. End finish: 2 side pieces bound with linen tape but evidence of cutting; top end bound with linen tape. Design: essentially three stripe patterns: a) red ground with dark blue floral meander, with blue and red rosettes and green diagonal leaf. This stripe forms the border, the sides, the top, and the bottom but not the two inner borders of the lacuna. b) floral sprig, 2 leaves and 4 blossoms on white, orange, or dark blue ground. c) narrow flanking stripes - floral meander on dark blue ground around whole piece, but also in other colours.
