Malzemeler ve teknikler Satin foundation structure 4/1 satin, warp: silk, ivory. Weft: cotton, single strand. Satin and velvet warp order 3-1-2; velvet structure; s-twist; pile counts, warps 15, along weft 18. Binding weft threads: silk, skinny, light brown silk (almost disappears). Brocade structure: wholly brocaded? 4/1 twill, count 19. There is an odd flaw in the twill here. The brocade weft towards the top of the photo is held down by every second twill warp, rather than in 4/1 order. Shots between pile 2. Metal and twist: silver or gilt? S. Tightness of wrap: variable. Metal wrap: some very tight, some average wrapped. Selvedges: one selvedge is cut; one is intct; it shows the same skip as the wefts float over a bundle of warps. Satin, less densely packed with a band of exposed cotton weft. Silk (Textile) Cotton Cotton Weaving
Fiziksel açıklama Silk brocade cushion cover, red and green silk with pattern of medallion in the centre containing palmette motifs, surrounded by leaf and floral design within a cartouche, and wide border with floral design. Bottom and top edges have further small designs.
