Wool pile on wool foundation, asymmetrical knot. Warp: white wool; Z2S; not depressed; 16 knots per sq. inch (64 per dm). Weft: white wool; Z2S; 2 shoots after each row; 8 knots per sq. inch (30 per dm). Pile: wool; colours: red, blue, yellow, black, green, and white; asymmetrical and tied around 2 warp threads. Side finish: web of 2 cords overcast with white wool. End finish: Lower: 5cm of plainweave with groups of warps twisted and knotted to create a fringe. Carpet Design: Field: red ground of 27 bands of segmented botehs, each band containing 8.5-9 motifs, changing direction in every row, each separated by white crosses forming a lattice. Borders from centre: a) checkered border - squares of yellow, red, blue and green surrounded by black and white dots; b) green ground, black and white meander with red flowers; c) as a); d) white ground, angular meander in black with stylised leaves and stem-shaped blossoms in red, green, blue, and yellow; e) as a).
