A circular medallion of tapestry woven wool, cut from a larger piece. Egyptian, ca. AD300-500. The background is maroon and other colours include green, white, yellow and pink. The imagery is of a running warrior with a shield and a lance. He wears a pink cloak. He is within a white circle with green and pink foliage around him. This is on a maroon background with white whip stitching along each side of the medallion. The warp is white wool, s-spun and double threaded. Some slit tapestry.
